Founders Jeff Ruddy who partnered with Jack & Nancy Swanson, had a love for racing and formed this club calling them the Hurricane Midgets.
Later on in 2004 Charles Francis joined the club as a racer and in 2009 he won the championship to which he then took over as the president until 2016 changing the name to the Outlaw Midgets. Charles decided that he was ready to move onto another division so he left and went to the Oscaars.
James Rodgers took over the club, and only managed to stay a short time, while Robin McLean (a former driver) jumped into his spot as the President to take this club to new heights.
When elections came around (2019) Robin was then replaced as the president by voted elections to Thomas Tyo, who is still in the presidency seat to this date.
The Outlaw Midgets club is a creation of members that want to take Midget racing to the top level. Out with the old and in with the new. "LET'S MAKE RACING FUN AGAIN"
What started as a 5 event race season, has become a touring Asphalt Oval Success!
The concept of the Outlaw Midgets was to create a fast and economical style of racing. With lap times rivaling LLM at a fraction of the cost. A turn-key car can run anywhere from $3500.00 to $6500.00. There is no need for Big Expensive Haulers and No Expensive Tools. All you need are the basics. On average, an Outlaw Midget race car can run a full season with as few as 6-8 tires and it only consumes 9 to 15 litres of fuel per event.
